Robert S. Green
Mr. Green joined North American in 1985, after specializing in the practice of commercial real estate law with a major Canadian law firm. Mr. Green has over 30 years experience in managing, leasing, developing and acquiring retail properties throughout North America. Mr. Green was a member of the board of directors and investment committee of Centrefund Realty, a public real estate company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Under Mr. Green’s leadership as a founding partner and President of Centrecorp Management Services, Centrecorp has become one of the largest private retail/commercial property managers in North America. Mr. Green co-partnered the recent privatization of Sterling Centrecorp Inc. Mr. Green is a graduate of, and obtained an LLB from The University of Toronto Law School and resides in Toronto, Ontario.
Executive Vice President
Mrs. Butler-Schembri has over 35 years’ experience in the shopping centre business. As Executive Vice President, Mrs. Butler-Schembri oversees the Canadian operations of Centrecorp including leasing, construction and legal. Recognized for her experience and results-driven leadership, Mrs. Butler-Schembri has led Centrecorp’s Canadian Tenant & Leasing Services division to national recognition as one of the most effective, pragmatic and talented teams in the shopping centre business. Mrs. Butler-Schembri’s has been involved in the negotiation and finalization of thousands of shopping centre lease transactions, and is responsible for liaising directly with the Company’s clients, including many of Canada’s leading institutional property owners, in finalizing and implementing leasing and redevelopment and remerchandising strategies for their properties.
Senior Vice-President, Property Management
Brett is responsible for the day to day management of Centrecorp’s portfolio on a national basis, including rent collection, tenant recoveries and billings, operating and capital cost budgeting, marketing and property maintenance. Brett has over 30 years experience in the shopping centre and property management fields.
Senior Vice-President, Leasing
Mr. Smith has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. His career began with a national commercial real estate brokerage firm focusing on retail investment sales and industrial sales/ leasing in southwestern Ontario. After managing a research department for a national real estate brokerage company in southern California, Mr. Smith returned to Toronto to focus on retail leasing with a national developer for shopping centres across eastern Canada. Mr. Smith joined Centrecorp in 2003, and has established meaningful relationships with senior real estate executives and brokers representing many of North America’s leading anchors, large format and other retailers. Since joining the Company, Mr. Smith has primary responsibility within Centrecorp’s leasing group for securing anchor and other large-format tenancies across Centrecorp’s Canadian portfolio, including existing space and space under development or redevelopment.
Senior Vice-President, Specialty Leasing
Tony has over 36 years of retail real estate experience. He is involved in every aspect of the leasing, remerchandising and redevelopment of existing commercial retail space, as well as development of surplus lands for his portfolio in Ontario and Eastern Canada.
Vice President, Construction
Mr. Bouwman has over 25 years of construction related experience and has been involved in the development and construction of over 100 shopping centres throughout Canada and the United States. Mr. Bouwman received his Degree in Engineering from McMaster University and is a member of the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario.
